By following Occam's razor completely, one arrives at the simplest conclusion- that God created the universe in a literal 6 days. This is not what many Christians or what I believe; rather, we believe in theistic evolution, where the evolutionary process was begun by and moderated by some god. Naturalistic evolution is more complex in practice than TE.

Occam's razor suggests that "Entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily". It is difficult to think of a better way of violating Occam's razor than by inventing an entity called "God" to explain things (any things). In any event, Occam's razor is not designed to provide "truth" - it is an aid to clear thinking when creating hypotheses. Sometimes, in reality, the more complicated explanation is the correct one.--R Fitzroy 08:37, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
A more "complex" explanation could be God. Merry xmas. (Edit by: Some anonymous bunch of numbers)
It could. It's all a question of evidence. What evidence is three that God exists? None that I am aware of. Consequently invoking imaginary complex entities to "explain" something is not the best way forward.--R Fitzroy 18:43, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
