A Schism is a split in a religious group, this gives rise to new Sects and denominations.

  1. Sometimes schisms happen because different members of a religion can't agree which "Religious Truth" is "The Truth" that the faithful should believe. There is no Scientific way to determine faith based positions so there is no way of deciding who (if anyone) is right and who is wrong.
  2. Other times schisms happen because some members of a religion refuse to accept the authority of the religious leaders.
  3. Very often schisms involve disagreement both over doctrine and authority.

The formation is schisms is inevitable in all religions.
