Al Qaida is an Islamic extremist group behind the September 11th bombings and other atrocities. Al Qaida is linked to the Wahabi branch of Sunni Islam and other extreme branches. Al Qaida frequently uses suicide bombings and attacks several targets simultaneously. Terrorist attacks may involve members of Al Qaida or may be carried out independently by terrorists trained by Al Qaida. There probably are also terrorist acts inspired by Al Qaida but not involving the organisation at all. Al Qaida teaches that killing innocent people is justified during Islamic Jihad. Many international and national organisations have labeled Al Qaida a terrorist organisation.

Most American and British Muslims oppose Al Qaida.
